New research information on the cause of visual dyslexia has allowed the development of effective dyslexia glasses that do not require a personal evaluation. While only about 25-33% of dyslexics are visual dyslexics and will be helped by the glasses, this seems to be the best intervention for them.
Until recently the most popular dyslexia glasses in the US have been Irlen Tinted Lenses. These were based on the concept that each visual dyslexic's problems were caused by a color unique to that dyslexic and therefore required an expensive personal evaluation to determine that color. A major problem to the consumer with that concept was that because most of the cost involved the evaluation which was received there could not be an effective guarantee. Combine that with a high failure rate and you have a product that is expensive to try with no guarantee of success. The quality standard for success in this method was also low because as soon as a client said this color is better than that one success could be claimed.
A different approach and concept was needed. If different colors affected different dyslexics then couldn't it be that the dyslexics were sensitive to several colors and the Irlen Method could only find the color that affected that dyslexic the most. This is certainly suggested by the fact that there is usually more than one response to the question which color is better. As you move on in the evaluation colors that were better before are discarded.
One approach to solve that problem might be to evaluate every color against no filter and then use every color selected to make a better individual filter for that particular dyslexic. When you consider that a color that was chosen and then discarded for one dyslexic was the final chosen color for another you can easily see the direction suggested towards a new approach.
A new quality standard rather than, is this your preferred color, is also needed. Since there have been documented a long list of visual problems that make reading difficult for visual dyslexics how about a standard of removing the problems associated with visual dyslexia?
It just happens that the title of my patent application is "Dyslexia glasses that remove the problems associated with visual dyslexia" and I claim that for the dyslexic who can describe a visual problem that makes reading difficult, the dyslexia glasses remove that problem 100% of the time. Notice that there is no requirement for a personal evaluation.
New research has also indicated that UV and IR light can be phase shifted into photons of visible light by autofluorescent proteins in the eye. Because the photons are no longer on their original path after phase shifting they create a visual noise disruptive to the visual process.
These new dyslexia glasses are called See Right Dyslexia Glasses and filter out all UV and IR light as well as an assortment of colored light associated with causing visual dyslexia symptoms.
They are so effective that they can be sold with a 100% money back guarantee.
The See Right Dyslexia Glasses are available on the Web at www.dyslexiaglasses.com.
